DISTANT WARS
Any violation on humanity anywhere in the world is a war waged on our individual rights and personal freedom.
We have naturally a sense of powerlessness to the distant wars of the world and even the ones deep within; we feel numb and voiceless. But each of us has a voice, and there is no smallness to it. A voice is a voice.
Retreat into the denial of truth, to live inside a privileged bubble and we bury any chance at meaning, we bury alive our mighty innocence. Practice awareness and find the common path of dignified living through the littlest of personal victories.
We can begin our search in private at what feels most close to us. Contemplate in moments alone the personal meanings of home, love, and freedom. Forgive first ourselves as we are but a reflection of nature’s flaws; then we must be grateful for that flaws represent opportunities for progress, for creating movement. Movement is formed by connecting moments of self-liberating stillness; true strength lies in such in-betweens.
The practice of awareness is the process of transmuting our natural anger into a raging compassion, which boils into confidence and willingness to put up a good fight. All effort to put up a good fight against poor, immoral judgement, no matter the scale or the superficially dictated win-loss, means we have found purpose to our existence. We live to fight for freedom no matter the circumstances, each through a unique cause.
